Introducing the Project

The Women's Community Projects (Mullingar) Association, established in 1985, has a proud record of achievement and service in the local community, in particular to women, children and their families. In existence for over 20 years the Project is Mullingar's largest training and development centre and offers a wide range of courses aimed at adults.

Initially it was a centre of social support, providing women with an opportunity to develop their self-confidence, while also acquiring basic home and craft skills. From this, tailor made training programmes evolved that provided women with the skills and support to enable them to secure employment or continue in education. Over the years the Project has expanded, modified and diversified it's activities, in line with the needs of women in the local community.

Supporting Women in the Community

The different aspects of the Project have afforded women and their families every opportunity to learn and progress, which in turn has allowed for a better quality of life and improvement in lifestyle.

The focus of the Project has always been and remains to be on women who are marginalized, isolated or suffering social exclusion through lack of educational opportunities.
